Following the brilliant triumphs of the past few years and the 2002 season in particular, there was no reason for Ferrari to extensively redesign their vehicle. That's why this high-performance racing car differs from its predecessor in a few details only. What is new, though, is the type 052 V-10-engine, generating some 890 hp. The season, however, went anything but to plan and after the race in Canada, Ferrari had still not marked up the points lead they had expected. Despite the Brazilian's win at Silverstone and the triumphs of the German driver in Monza and the USA, the competition was clearly hot on their heels. And it was not until the very last race, virtually on the final straight, that tnail-biting racing season was decided. The driver from Kerpen claimed his 4th World Championship title in succession and Ferrari won the Constructors' Championship for the 5th time running.
