The abundance of track coupled with the inclusion of the HM2000 transformer/controller means that this set is the start of a complete model railway layout. Using the TrakMat included, this set can be gradually built up with the addition fo further locomotives, rolling stock, track, buildings and scenic material all obtainable from the Hornby range. And to assist further development of the set, the Hornby Virtual Railway CD-Rom is also included.

Also available is an extension coach pack, containing BR Gresley coaches.
