The new Mini, with its round headlamps, striking radiator grille and sharply defined rear, echoes the typical features of its English predecessor. This stylistic influence also expresses itself in the interior, in particular in the giant speedo and rev counter. The outstanding design of its legendary ancestor gives this sporty three door car a very familiar, but at the same time at very trendy look. Ultra-modern technology and contemporary comfort govern the inner workings of the Mini which offers disc brakes, five speed gearbox and electronic stability control. BMW plan to launch the 115 hp Cooper, which has a 1.6 litre engine and front wheel drive, on the market in July 2001.
