The convincing retro design of the Mustang GT, which has been available as a US import since 2005, echoes that of its legendary predecessor from the sixties. The new Mustang GT with its long bonnet, prominent front apron, blunt rear and coup -style roof line is based on the traditional American "muscle cars". Tradition has also been adhered to in the interior. The centre of the steering wheel bears the horse trade mark like its predecessor and it has the same large round instruments. However the lively 8-cylinder engine (4.6 litres, 300 bhp) has been completely redesigned and has a voice that thrills. The GT accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 5.2 seconds.
