This type of open cast-iron screen for male urinals, introduced by the Victorians, could be found in the middles of roads, in public parks and on station platforms. An example of the latter can stilll be found on the platform of Bewdley station on the Severn Valley Railway. They were a basic but important step towards better public health. Area; 92 x 34mm.
